Paul Jefferson is one of those writers that makes you laugh, then he makes you think. His lyrics seem like they’re country, but they’ve got an eclectic twist to them that makes them sophisticated – he calls it “hilljack”, and he even has a band by that name. Paul wrote a hit for Aaron Tippin with a song called “As Close As I’ll Get To Loving You”, and he wrote “You’re Not My God” with Keith Urban for Keith’s first album. Lauren Lucas is a soulful singer from Columbia, South Carolina. She writes her own style of Southern Soul, and is a favorite performer in Nashville.
